Events, Trail Days and Community Rides

Trail work days and community get-togethers are the best way to meet other riders and give back to the trails you love.

Where We Post Upcoming Events

Dates, times and meeting places for upcoming events are posted in our Facebook group. Because trail work depends on weather and ground conditions, plans can change at short notice, so check the group before you head out. You can also sign up for our newsletter on the home page.

Trail Work Days

Trail days, such as our Lake Milton trail days, bring volunteers together to maintain and improve the trails at Lake Milton and Beaver Creek State Parks. Depending on the season and what the trails need, work might include:

  • Clearing fallen trees and branches after storms.
  • Trimming brush that crowds the trail.
  • Cleaning out drains and fixing wet spots.
  • Repairing ruts, berms and damaged tread.
  • Building new sections of approved trail.

No experience is needed, and tools are usually provided. Bring sturdy shoes, long pants, work gloves, eye protection, water and a snack. Our volunteer guide explains what to expect on your first day.

Rides and Community Get-Togethers

Members of the community regularly use the Facebook group to organize rides and share plans. It is a great way to find riding partners at your pace and learn the trails from people who know them well. New riders are welcome. Read our beginner's guide and trail etiquette tips before your first group ride.

Weather and Cancellations

We protect the trails by avoiding work and rides when the ground is too wet. If an event is postponed because of rain or mud, we will post an update in the Facebook group. Learn why in Should You Ride Muddy Trails?
